In it’s 20th anniversary, the International Conference on Total Reflection
X-ray fluorescence and Related Methods (TXRF 2025) was held from the 9th to the 12th of
September at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, Poland. The
conference brings together scientist, end-users and manufacturers for a
scientific exchange. In total, the biannual conference recorded 70
participants from 18 countries including the IAAC with Prof. Dr. Fittschen
and the PhD students Frithjof Mähler, Pascal Roth and Franziska Sand.
Frithjof Mähler and Franziska Sand got the opportunity to present their
work in each of the 36 oral presentations and have attracted a lot of
interest in the TXRF-Community. With his Poster „Determination of
Manganese oxidation state in an artificial slag using XANES
Spectroscopy“, Pascal Roth won one of the three poster prices.
Another highlight of the for the working group of Prof. Dr. Fittschen very
succesful conference was the introduction of a new impactor from the
company Bruker which is able to collect aersol particles right on a TXRF
sample carrier. Bruker was organizing a workshop on the 8th of September
in which important tips and tricks for sample preparation and the software
were given. Additionally, the impactor „T-AERO“ was presented in more
detail.
The TXRF 2027 will be held in Portugal and organized from the local
