Inaugural Lecture

On 07.12.17, Professor Dr. Ursula Fittschen held her inaugural lecture at the TU Clausthal in the context of the GDCh colloquium. First she welcomed the numerous guests, with special pleasure Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. mult., Senator a. D. Hanjörg Sinn, to whom she is still connected from her student days in Hamburg. Then the President of the Clausthal University of Technology, Professor Dr. Thomas Hanschke, spoke a few introductory words, including his special relationship to inorganic chemistry. After an overview of her previous research on "Microanalysis and Microscopy of the Elements with X-rays" (with fire, sound and smoke and even more sound), Ms. Fittschen gave at the end an outlook on future research at TU Clausthal, especially the integration into the research focus "Securing Raw Materials and Resource Efficiency". Finally, there was a chemical play of colors before the audience was invited to a small reception.
