Doctoral Seminar of the German Working Group for Analytical Spectroscopy (DAAS)

From 31.07. to 2.8. the 5th Interdisciplinary Doctoral Seminar of the German Working Group for Analytical Spectroscopy (DAAS) took place.

From July 31 to August 2, the 5th Interdisciplinary Doctoral Seminar of the German Working Group for Analytical Spectroscopy (DAAS) took place at the Helmholtz Center in Geesthacht. Here, there was the opportunity to gain insight into the PhD projects of other young analytical chemists, to exchange ideas with PhD students and to gain initial experience in presenting one's own research results in English. In addition, lectures and a panel discussion provided insights into careers in industry, at research institutes or at federal agencies, from sales to research.

The Fittschen working group was represented by Alena Wittkowski, who gave a presentation on "Characterization of slag and CRMs in respect to recycling of critical materials", and by Christian Lutz (pictured), who gave a presentation entitled "Thesis proposal: development of new procedures for the elemental determination and speciation in vanadium redox flow batteries".
