Beamtime at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility

As part of the ReMade EU project titled “Slags as Resources of Advanced Functional Materials, Compound Formation, Modification, and Characteristics,” members of Prof. Fittschen’s research group completed a successful measurement session at the ESRF.

As part of the ReMade EU project “Slags as resources of advanced functional materials, compound formation, modification, and characteristics,” Dr. Sven Hampel from DESY (TUC alumnus), Pascal Roth, and Prof. Ursula Fittschen had the opportunity to conduct measurements at the ESRF (Grenoble, France) on engineered artificial minerals (EnAMs), which are potential collectors for critical materials from waste streams. In situ high-temperature measurements on EnAMs and their precursors were performed at the ESRF’s ID22 beamline. The photo shows Pascal Roth inserting a Ni capillary into the rotation stage.
